No matter which account I use, set up in Gallery2, I can not log in using this plugin. Any ideas?

Saddly, I'm getting the same error message. However, uploading them without a resize doesn't work for me as an alternative.

I used this glorious program for awhile now, and it's made uploading photos to my site a breeze, but now I'm lost without it! After my harddrive crashed last week, I'm running Windows7 64bit RC1... thinking that it should run fine since you've designed it for Vista 64... but so far no luck. I get the popup dialogue error message when I try to resize on upload, but no error when I upload at original size (but it does tell me that it fails as a status bar message, so my guess is it's my web server's limitations at that point.)

Description:
This patch fixes error with resizing an image that does not fit to selected dimensions.
For example when resizing an image to 1600x1200 original code failed for images of 3200x3000 by trying to resize them to 1600x1500 which does not fit to the given size constraint.

The error message only appears when I am resizing the images using Pix2Gallery2.

All images work ok if I upload them at original size, but so far every image I've tried fails with the above error if I try to resize them on upload.

I've just installed Pix 2 Gallery 2 since Gallery Remote was again not working on my Windows Vista 64 bit Business.

I've installed Pix2Gallery2 and logged into my gallery ok, but when I try to upload an image I get the "Unhandled exception". Details below.

I've installed Pix 2 Gallery 2 and added my server URL, login name, and password via options. When I click "login", the status bar says, "Failure! Login as admin unsuccessful!". I then examined the log file:

Hi,

Thanks for providing this free tool! Unfortunately I am unable to use it. When I try to login I get the "Unsuccessful! Unable to login as admin" message. I am on Windows XP Pro w/ .NET 2.0, and my version of Gallery is 2.2.5.

My log file is attached. Thanks for any support you can provide!

I got NullReferenceException with fresh install of release 0.9.6.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Remove your config file at %APPDATA%\Pix2Gallery2.config to emulate fresh install.
2) Start Pix2Gallery2
3) "Please configure at least one Gallery URL" message is displayed.
4) Press OK. Options dialog is displayed.
5) Do not add any sites, just click OK or Cancel.

NullReferenceException is thrown at UploadForm.cs optionsToolStripMenuItem_Click() line 264:

Patch just adds the null check here:

I haven't finished investigation, but I believe this is due to System.Data.SQLite.dll containing some 32-bit native code, while Pix2Gallery2 is compiled for "AnyCPU" target. One solution is to compile Pix2Gallery2 to force it run in WoW64, another - to ship different System.Data.SQLite.dlls for different bitness.

Pix2Gallery2 has a bug when uploading from a Photoshop Elements 6 database on a 64 bit operating system. This is because the SQLite.dll is compiled for 32 bit environments only.

Fortunatly, there is a workaround:

1) Download and install Pix2Gallery as per normal.
2) Go to the SQLite webpage (http://sqlite.phxsoftware.com/), navigate to the download page (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=132486&package_id=145568), and download the 1.0.46.0 setup.exe file. Install this.
3) GO into the 64 bit SQLite directory on your HDD (something like C:\Program Files (x86)\SQLite.NET\bin\x64), grab the System.Data.SQLite.DLL file from that directory, and copy it into the pix2gallery2 directory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Pix 2 Gallery 2). It should overwrite the existing version.

That should solve the problem.

Project Description

History:
The story goes like this, we use Gallery http://gallery.menalto.com/ for our family photo album. My wife does most of the picture uploading and really liked using GalleryRemote http://gallery.menalto.com/wiki/Gallery_Remote. Then I had to go and update our home computer to 64 bit Vista Ultimate. GalleryRemote did not get along very well with Vista. Perhaps it was simply user error, but after spending hours I just could not get GalleryRemote to work reliably on Vista.

The search was on for an alternative. In the meantime, I uploaded pictures directly using the online tools. This works great, but it just does not have that "fat client" feel that we had gotten used to. Nothing else seemed to fit the bill.

So, Pix2Gallery2 was then born. I had tried briefly about a year ago to write a similar client for Windows Mobile, so I started from there.

Product:
Pix2Gallery2 is simply a .NET 2.0 version of GalleryRemote written in C#. I borrowed heavily from the existing GalleryRemote UI, which is likely obvious for anyone who uses GalleryRemote today. I developed and tested this on 64 bit Vista, but it should work fine on 32 bit Vista as well as the 32 and 64 bit flavors of Windows XP. I only tested this against Gallery 2.2.1, although it should work fine against just about any version of Gallery 2. It will not work against Gallery 1.x.
