Hi, I keep getting a login failure when I try to login to my Gallery 2.2.4 installation. Is there a version mismatch, or is there something I am not doing properly?

I'd suggest to add this hint to error message saying "unable to login".

I've installed Pix 2 Gallery 2 and added my server URL, login name, and password via options. When I click "login", the status bar says, "Failure! Login as admin unsuccessful!". I then examined the log file:

I think something is wrong in the format of the boundary. Should this even be multipart?

I used telnet to manually attempt to connect to my server and issued the request:

Hi,

Thanks for providing this free tool! Unfortunately I am unable to use it. When I try to login I get the "Unsuccessful! Unable to login as admin" message. I am on Windows XP Pro w/ .NET 2.0, and my version of Gallery is 2.2.5.

My log file is attached. Thanks for any support you can provide!

I haven't finished investigation, but I believe this is due to System.Data.SQLite.dll containing some 32-bit native code, while Pix2Gallery2 is compiled for "AnyCPU" target. One solution is to compile Pix2Gallery2 to force it run in WoW64, another - to ship different System.Data.SQLite.dlls for different bitness.

Created Issue: Untrapped error when downloading info on previously uploaded items over a slow network.

The program sometimes throws a null value exception when downloading info about previously uploaded /existing albums /pics.
The error is thrown because nvcoll is null but ultimately it is because the StreamReader is terminating before status = 0 (success is received) in SetPropertyPairs(StreamReader receiveStreamReader) . In the patch I uploaded today I check for this and proceed "more" gracefully, but I don't no how to ask for a resend of the data and clean up the partial download.
The other peculiar thing is that the failure will often occurs on the exact same item when i re-run the app. If I remove the Item from Gallery2 the process will usually continue well past the location where the item was removed sometimes failing on another item which must be removed.

I originally thought that there might be something abnormal with the pic but can see no commonalities. It might also be a Gallery2 error BUT, the problem only occurs when I run the app outside the debugger!!

Thanks for your help here. The second option you suggested is what the project manager tried when he put http://dinklocker.com/TedWare/Pix2Gallery2/Pix2Gallery2Setup_0.9.5.zip up. I'll let him know of your success, but it seems funny that what he did didnt work for you.

Ok, here are two possible SOLUTIONs, both work, I tried both of them:

1) Ship two versions of System.Data.SQLite.DLL - for x86 and for x64 platforms
2) Create a new compile target and compile the solution for x86 CPU, NOT for AnyCPU, recompile and ship

In my opinion, solution (2) is the easiest (requires literally less than 10 mouse clicks).

With that, I believe it is up to you to change it for the next version. Thanks for the software. :)

SOLUTION

Here is what helped:

1) Download SQLite 1.0.46.0 sources
2) Recompiling them for x64 Release target
3) Replacing System.Data.SQLite.DLL in Pix2Gallery2 directory with a new version for x64 Release

Now it works, I need to think how to incorporate it into your source code...

By the way, simple replacement of the dll does not work either, as Pix2Gallery2 binds to 1.0.46.0 version, which does not exist for x64 architecture.

I have > 20000 photos in 200+ albums in PSE 6 (most of which were migrated from PSE 4, but that is probably not important). When I installed Pix2Gallery2 I noticed a few of the albums were not showing in the tree and new albums were not being added. I used PSE6 to verify/rebuild the catalog and most of the albums then disappeared from Pix2Gallery2 treeview. The select statement at line 683 in file PSE6Interface.cs is used to populate the tree but it only works properly if the data are returned in sibling_index order, not the default order. When I modified the select statement to: "SELECT * FROM tag_table WHERE sibling_index >= {0} AND parent_id = {1} order by sibling_index" and rebuilt Pix2Gallery2 all of my albums appeared and seem to function normally.

Thanks. I've been aware of a bug in the displaying of albums (In both the PSE5 and PSE6 versions), but have not really had time to investigate to much into it (this is going back months now).

Feel free to upload a patch for this, else I'll make a patch based on your advice.

I just verified that the remote gallery applet DOES work, but remote gallery the program does NOT (similar error to pix2gallery2). I tried the fixes from the FAQ, but none seem to help pix2gallery2 (or remote gallery, for that matter). However, the remote gallery applet continues to operate just fine...

btw, I'm running an apache web server which returns a 404 Error when searching for gallery_remote2.php along with a web-page:
